Playing Podcast Episodes

To play episode, tap on the Play button in the list of posts ot tap on the episode in My Episodes View and it will start playing it in the Podcast Player. The Podcast player maintains "Now Playing" playlist of episodes queued for playback. By default played episodes remain in the playlist, but you can control what happens when a episode finishes playing (nothing, play next, delete and play next) using the Settings (Menu > More... > Settings > Player Settings).

During playback, you can use the transport buttons |< and >| to skip forth and back a predetermined amount of time within the current podcast (commercial skip). You can configure the skip intervals using the Player Settings. There is also a convenient button (>>|) that lets you skip directly to the end of the podcast from any point in the podcast.

When you start playback from the My Episodes list, by default BeyondPod automatically generates a playlist starting from selected episode and including all remaining episodes in the list. You can also manually add episodes to the playlist by picking individual episodes across your feeds. To manually add an episode to the playlist, while in the My Episodes list, "tap and hold" on the episode and select "Add to Playlist" from the menu.

Another way to fill your playlist with episodes is to use "SmartPlay". SmartPlay lets you define a set of simple rules that automatically add episodes to your playlist. You can define rules like: "First play the newest 2 episodes for feed A, Then play the oldest 1 episode of feed B, Then play newest 3 episodes of category X, etc.". To set your rules, use the SmartPlay editor accessible from Menu > More > Settings > Playlist and Widget Settings > Configure SmartPlay.
Once the rules are set, at any time, you can build a fresh playlist using Menu > Play > Start SmartPlay - this will clear your current playlist and generate a fresh one using the latest available episodes on the device.

Both audio and video episodes can be added to the playlist. If the playlist contains a mix of both audio and video episodes, what episode will play when the current episode finishes playing, depends of what player is currently playing:

Any video episode can be played as "audio only" if you play it in the BeyondPod audio player. This is convenient when you want to "listen" to a video show (for example when driving). To play a video episode in the audio player - add it to the playlist ("long press" on it and select "Add to Playlist"), navigate to the audio player, open the playlist drawer and tap on the video episode to play it.
