I can't find the feed or podcast I am looking for! What can I do?

If you can't find the feed you want in BeyondPod's feed database, here are some tips on how to search for the podcast using external web sites:
  • If you are searching for an audio or video podcast, the best way is to use iTunes podcast directory http://bit.ly/itunescasts on your desktop PC. Once you find the podcast you want, use the same iTunes podcast URL you see in the browser (it should look something like: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/new-yorker-fiction/id256945396) and enter it in BeyondPod's search box (starting with http).
You can also use Chrome to Phone to send the URL directly from your browser to your device, where BeyondPod will recognize it and allow you to subscribe to it.
Alternatively, you can go to the same iTunes podcast directory using the browser of your mobile device. In this case, BeyondPod will prompt you to subscribe to the podcasts when you tap on the podcast link.
NOTE: Because of the way iTunes links are structured, you will get a prompt to subscribe in BeyondPod even if you tap on iTunes category or sub-category links (for example "Arts", "Business" etc.). In this case just select "Browser" from the "Complete action using" pop-up menu to let the category link open in the browser. Once you see the podcasts in the category, tap on the link with the podcast you want and select "BeyondPod" in the "Complete action using" pop-up menu.
  • If you already use iTunes to manage your podcasts, you can export your existing subscriptions to BeyondPod. In iTunes, right click on "Podcasts" under "Library" and select "Export...". Save the subscriptions as an OPML file (for example iTunesFeeds.opml). Copy iTunesFeeds.opm to "BeyondPod" folder on your SD card. Open BeyondPod and select Add Feed > Import Feeds > Import from OPML file, Select iTunesFeeds.opml from the list and tap on "Load OPML File".
  • Another alternative is to search on your desktop using Google/Yahoo/Bing or any other search engine. When searching include the word "podcast" or "rss feed" in the search text (for example "NBA podcast" or "NBA rss feed")
  • There are many dedicated podcast directories like: www.digitalpodcast.com, podcast.com, www.podcastalley.com, www.podnova.com and many others. They offer various ways to browse and search for your favorite podcast.
  • If you don't want to use Feedly, you can just send an e-mail with the feed urls to your device and then copy/paste the individual feeds in BeyondPod's "Add Feed" dialog.
